When carrying out an electrical, air-conditioning or plumbing installation, it is essential to ensure that the company or professional you are contracting is authorised. This is not only a legal requirement, but also a safety, quality and compliance assurance.

In this article we explain how you can easily check this and why it is so important to do so before contracting any technical service.

Why is it important to hire an authorised company?

An authorised company or installer complies with the technical, training and legal requirements set out in current regulations.

This ensures that:

  • The installation shall be safe and comply with official regulations (such as RITE or REBT).
  • Equipment shall be installed correctly and without risk to persons or installations.
  • You will be able to obtain all the necessary documentation (certificates, bulletins, technical reports, etc.).
  • In case of inspection or incident, you will be legally protected. 🛡️

On the other hand, working with non-accredited persons may involve penalties, electrical hazards, leaks, or loss of warranties There are public registers where you can check whether a company or professional has official accreditation.

  1. In CataloniaYou can consult the Registre d'Instal-ladors de Seguretat Industrial de Catalunya (RASIC), managed by the Generalitat.

You only have to enter the company name or NIF, and you will be able to see if it is registered and what types of installations it can carry out (electricity, air conditioning, gas, etc.).
  2. In the rest of Spain
You can consult the Integrated Industrial Register (RII) of the Ministry of Industry:
